Biography :
Arshan Hasan is a PhD student in the department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations and Languages at the University of Toronto. His primary research area is the linguistic comparison of Semitic languages. His current focus is on the region Southwestern Arabia, where he is comparing that region's modern and ancient languages in the hopes of demystifying their apparent relationship to each other. He has been a recipient of the Social Science and Humanities Research Council grant as well as in course awards in Hebrew and for general academic success during previous degrees.
