Biography

Brianne's research interests are centered on cross-cultural interactions taking place in the Bronze and Iron Age Levant with Mesopotamia and the broader Eastern Mediterranean. She seeks to utilize both art historical and archaeological methodologies to explore how these interactions affected local conceptions of identity as expressed through material culture. Her M.A. thesis focused on the late third and early second millennium Dilmun society of modern-day Bahrain, examining local adaptations of international stamp sealing traditions. Brianne has conducted fieldwork as part of the University of Toronto’s Tayinat Archaeological Project in Turkey, as well as part of the Umm el-Jimal Project in Jordan through Calvin University.
