Biography
Sara studies the history of modern Iran. Her research centers at the intersection of gender modernization and literary modernity in 20th century Iran. Using archival materials, she weaves feminist methodologies of women’s literary writings, demonstrating the relationship between gender, literature and the public culture in Iran.
Before that, she received her BA and MA from the University of Washington Jackson School of International Studies and wrote her master’s thesis on “the Revival of Hebrew and Persian Language in the 19th Century” under the supervision of Professor Naomi Sokoloff.
