Biography

Shiva Tohidi Booth is a PhD student in Near & Middle Eastern Civilisations at the University of Toronto. She holds a BA and MA in History and NMC from the University of Toronto, specialising in the history of early modern and modern Iran. Her doctoral research focuses on the historical development of medicine in nineteenth-century Iran, with a specific emphasis on the influence of cholera and its impact on print culture and lithography. Currently, she serves as a Research Assistant for the Women Poets Iranica Project at the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Institute of Iranian Studies.
