Description

The Ottawa Chapter of the Ontario Archaeological Society (OAS) is inviting the public to the annual OAS Symposium, held virtually from Monday, October 18th to Sunday, October 24th. 2021 marks the Chapter’s 50th anniversary of promoting the archaeology, history and cultural heritage of the Ottawa Valley and Eastern Ontario.

This year’s program includes a wealth of offerings, from workshops, roundtable discussions, and sessions on current archaeological research in Ontario, a scavenger hunt, a trivia night, and virtual guided tours of archaeological and heritage sites in the National Capital Region.

The keynote speaker will be Archaeologist Stephen Jarrett, discussing the recent Barrack Hill excavations and Parliament Hill archaeology.

This virtual event will be held on Zoom and eSAX, a local virtual event company. Registration is recommended in advance of the symposium and is open to current and prospective members of the OAS, as well as the general public, on a pay-what-you-can basis.
