Afsaneh Najmabadi is the Francis Lee Higginson Professor of History and of Studies of Women, Gender, and Sexuality at Harvard University.

In this lecture, Professor Najmabadi explains the inspirations and challenges that informed the launching of “Women’s Worlds in Qajar Iran,” a unique and impressive digital archive of thousands of personal papers, manuscripts, photographs, publications, everyday objects, works of art and audio materials.
