The Computational Research on the Ancient Near East (CRANE) Project's institutional partners at Cornell University, led by Professor Sturt W. Manning, have just published an article entitled "Severe multi-year drought coincident with Hittite collapse around 1198–1196 BC" in the journal Nature.
CRANE sponsored the research that led to this breakthrough, and also helped fund its open access publication.
