The Department of Near and Middle Eastern Civilizations is pleased to announce the appointment of Professor Walid Saleh as Associate Chair, Undergraduate.
Professor Saleh will serve a two-year term beginning July 1, 2025, and concluding June 30, 2027.

Professor Ruba Kana’an Awarded Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Scholar Award

Assistant Professor Ruba Kana’an has received the Elahé Omidyar Mir-Djalali Scholar Award for the year 2024-25. The EOM Scholar Award shall be granted to University of Toronto tenure-track faculty members in Iranian/Persian studies to assist in compiling successful tenure files.
